In this two part series we examine Peter's confession of Christ and the following passages that deal with taking our cross. If we are to confess Christ as our Savior, we are to be prepared to follow the Way of the Cross. The two cannot be separated.
Confessing Christ means that we give Him His entire due. He is God, He is our only pathway to salvation and He is our Creator. We must be leading others to Him also. We must be ready to respond to the various answers we will hear on who the Person of Jesus is.
If we are prepared to follow the way of the Cross, we must be prepared to die for our Savior. We must be willing to take our Cross and follow, no matter where He leads.

As Christians, we are called to be active in our faith. One of Christ's closing statements dealt specifically with the call of those who follow. This is referred to as "The Great Commission."
In the Great Commission, we are called to be active because of the Supremacy of Christ. Christ begins His commission by explaining that He has all authority. Because of His authority, we are to be people who take His Word seriously.
The action parts of the Commission call us to: Go, Make disciples and baptize, teach, and to observe. We must be ready to take part on this earth to build up the Kingdom of Heaven. In God's wisdom, He has chosen to use us, His servants, to spread His Gospel so that we can reach the World.
